Hotel Haltrava - Introduction

The newly reconstructed Haltrava Hotel stands in the very centre of a charming small town, Klenčí pod Čerchovem, which is located in the centre of the upper Chodsko Region, and is especially famous for the production of traditional Chodsko Region ceramics. As early as the 18th century, the Haltrava Hotel was a renowned inn, which was visited by many famous people, e.g. Božena Němcová, General Suvorov, and reputedly even the Prince of Wales himself.

Klenčí and its surroundings is a resort sought after by history and folklore lovers. The inhabitants of the Chodsko Region have retained their specific dialect, old habits, and customs, many beautiful songs and dances, and no one is surprised here when, in today's modern times, a woman in a colourful regional folk costume appears in the street.

The Český les and Bavorský les mountain ranges with an altitude of from 600 to 1000 metres belong to the largest unbroken forest areas in Europe, and are also called "Europe's Green Roof". Beautiful deep forests harbour lots of wildlife; where else in the country could you be so lucky as to see a deer, moufflon or even a capercaillie.

In the summer, the area around Klenčí offers plentiful opportunities for hiking, cycling and swimming. In winter it is ideal for lovers of winter sports.
